Could you explain what the benefit of extending the “warmup” time is in the configuration?
From what I can tell it’s related to the TXCO and a longer warm up means a more stable transmission? What I’d like to know is what is the perceived difference if it is set <3 seconds or >3 seconds in terms of performance.
The warmup time helps to stabilize the transmission. We’ve found that a 3 second warmup is sufficient for a good TX and ultimately doppler positioning / pickup by the passing satellite. If you want to transmit faster (i.e an animal surfacing) then you may want to experiment with shorter warmup times but keep an eye on stability.
