Idle battery consumption

Hi there,

Could you let me know what the expected idle power consumption is if:

  • Saltwater switch is disabled.
  • Accelerometer is disabled.
  • No GPS activity or Argos transmissions (so just idle, asleep).

Hi Roland,

The default consumption when idle (firmware version 11 or higher) is 187uA, but can be lowered down to 37uA with custom firmware.

GPS (on) is 26.9mA, so to take a GPS fix every hour for a year (allowing up to 50 seconds of on time to aquire from a cold start) would require a 5,000mAh battery if idle is 187uA.
